My earlier research work focused on studying populations of the critically endangered gharial Gavialis gangeticus in National Chambal Sanctuary, with the conservation organization Tiger Watch in Rajasthan, India. |
From 2012 to 2015, I worked with Wildlife Conservation Society–India, gaining expertise in field surveys of large mammals (camera trapping, sign surveys, distance sampling methods) and population modeling/monitoring techniques. I worked on providing technical and statistical support for studies of large carnivores in India and Thailand. I was also involved with communication and outreach activities of the organization.

My PhD work focused on population ecology and conservation of dholes. I have fourteen papers on dholes published, and I was part of the 2015 IUCN assessment on dholes. I am also a member of the IUCN Species Survival Commission Canid Specialist Group and the IUCN Dhole Working Group.
My current research deals with studying carnivore ecology and human–carnivore interactions across multiple landscapes in India. |
